At A Giant’s Early Learning Center, we love bringing the beauty of the season into our classrooms—and this week, it was all about pumpkins! 🍂 During Pumpkin Patch Week, our children explored, painted, and experimented with pumpkins through hands-on learning that blended science, art, and sensory play.
🎨 Exploring the Classroom

Our little artists got creative with pumpkin painting, seed counting, and pumpkin-themed sensory play. From scooping out seeds to swirling orange paint, each activity encouraged exploration and fine motor development in the most festive way!
Why it matters: Sensory-rich activities like these spark curiosity, strengthen coordination, and encourage self-expression.
🔬 Pumpkin Science & Discovery

Curiosity was at its peak as children turned into mini scientists—predicting, testing, and discovering through mini pumpkin experiments! They observed textures, explored what’s inside a pumpkin, and learned how pumpkins grow.
Why it matters: Early science play helps children develop observation, comparison, and reasoning skills while keeping learning fun and exciting.
🎉 Pumpkin Palooza Celebration

The highlight of the week was our Pumpkin Palooza! Families joined in for games, crafts, and pumpkin-inspired snacks. Children proudly showed off their creations and shared what they learned throughout the week.
Why it matters: Family events build community, celebrate achievements, and create lasting memories that strengthen the home-school connection.
🎉 Pumpkin Palooza Celebration

We encouraged families to keep the pumpkin fun going at home with easy activities like:
🎃 Making pumpkin muffins or roasted seeds together
🎃 Reading pumpkin-themed stories before bedtime
🎃 Using pumpkin seeds for counting or craft projects
At-home tip: Ask your child
1. “What did you find inside your pumpkin?”
2. “How many seeds do you think are in the next one?”
