At A Giant’s ELC, our learners don’t just explore the world—they investigate it! During Bug Bonanza Week, our classrooms turned into mini nature labs filled with magnifying glasses, wiggly bug crafts, and outdoor adventures that sparked curiosity and inspired a love of science and discovery.

🪲 Insect Exploration & Buggy Sensory Play
🔍 See, feel, and learn like a real entomologist!
Children engaged in insect-themed sensory bins, touched “fuzzy” pipe cleaner caterpillars, sorted toy bugs by color and size, and learned about different species through hands-on stories and books. The sensory fun helped them develop confidence while discovering the science of bugs.
🎨 Buggy Crafts & Creepy-Crawly Creations
From fingerprint ants to butterfly wings made of tissue paper, our learners used imagination and fine motor skills to create colorful insect-inspired art! These buggy masterpieces sparked conversation, storytelling, and creativity.

Let the wild (and safe!) bug chase begin!
With magnifying glasses in hand, children searched for real insects in the grass and bushes. We also built simple classroom “bug hotels” using natural materials—teaching respect for even the tiniest creatures.
🕵️♀️ Bug Safari & Expert Visit
Our “Bug Safari” scavenger hunt gave learners a mission: find hidden insects around our playground! Bonus excitement came with a visit from a local insect expert who brought along some bug friends for show-and-tell. Brave explorers got an up-close look at real-life critters!
🌱 Family Resources: Explore at Home
We sent home simple resources to keep the learning going—safe outdoor exploration tips, insect-themed book lists, and ideas for at-home discovery. Families loved continuing the adventure together!
