Costume & Pretend Play Week at A Giants ELC: Imagination in full bloom this October!

From firefighters and fairies to doctors and dinosaurs, our classrooms came alive with characters of every kind! Children used their imaginations to act out stories, build friendships, and explore the power of creativity.


Why it matters: Pretend play helps children strengthen communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence—all while learning through play.

The highlight of the week was our Costume Parade, where families joined in the fun to cheer on their little stars! Children proudly showcased their favorite outfits while puppet shows and role-play centers inspired laughter and collaboration across every classroom.

Behind every costume was a learning adventure! Children explored emotions, practiced storytelling, and learned teamwork through creative scenarios that connected play to real-world understanding.

Keep the magic going at home this October:


• Set up a cozy “dress-up box” with hats, scarves, and old clothes.
• Recreate daily routines with a twist—play “restaurant,” “doctor’s office,” or “grocery store.”
• Use pumpkins, leaves, or blankets as props to inspire seasonal stories.
• Celebrate your child’s imagination—no costume is too simple for big ideas!
