Here’s how we brought the outdoors in and made this week unforgettable:
1. Pretend Campsite Adventures
✨ “Campfire” stories, tent fun, and flashlight giggles!
We kicked off the week by setting up cozy indoor campgrounds right inside our classrooms. Children gathered inside play tents, used flashlights to explore, and listened to exciting stories around our pretend “campfire.”
This type of dramatic play fosters imagination, encourages collaboration, and introduces little ones to outdoor experiences — even if they’ve never been camping before!
2. Hands-On Camping Crafts & Exploration
🎨 Creativity lit up our “campsites!”
From crafting binoculars and lanterns to making “fire rings” with colored tissue paper, our little explorers were immersed in camping-themed art and sensory projects. These activities not only sparked joy but also helped develop fine motor skills and hands-on problem-solving.
3. Camp Day Celebrations

Our official “Camp Day” was filled with themed songs, nature walks around the playground, and a special treat—s’more-inspired snacks! Families loved seeing the photos of children singing around their cardboard “campfire” and sharing stories with their friends.

We encouraged families to keep the camping fun going at home with indoor forts, storybooks like Pete the Cat Goes Camping, and backyard bug hunts. These simple activities create powerful learning opportunities and build a strong school-to-home connection.
